Friday May 17:
7.00 -9.00 pm – A special Friday practica and social dancing
Practica will be held at ‘The Church,’ Dundas St
(meals are available prior to the practica. Special for $18.00 ‘curry, naan bread, a drink’)
Saturday May 18:
11.00-12.00 pm - Workshop 1 (1 hour) with Marian
Connection: Posture in close embrace, listening together and from this connected platform responding to variation in the music.
1.00 -2.30pm - Workshop 2 (1 ½ hours) with Marian
Giro: How to lead and follow turns, recognizing the musical characteristic of this move and fitting it into your dance.
Saturday evening milonga: from 8.30. Maori Hill Community Centre, 607 Highgate, Dunedin $5.00 + a small plate of finger food and your drink of choice. Music - DJ Marian.
Sunday May 19:
11.00-12.00 pm - Workshop 3 (1 hour) with Phil and Marian
The embrace: refining the walk and using rhythm and cadencia to give your walk musical form.
1.00-2.30pm - Workshop 4 (1 1/2 hours) with Phil and Marian
Ocho cortado: How to lead and follow ocho cortado with variation and nuance.
3.00 – 4.00 – Milonga at the Settlers Museum, just south of the railway station.
Venue for the workshops: Albert St hall, 51 Albert St, St Clair.

Saturday: both workshops - $30.00
Sunday: both workshops - $30.00
All four workshops $55.00
Connection workshops (1 hour): $15.00
Move workshops (1.5 hours): $20.00

Theme/philosophy:
The general focus of the workshops will be posture, the embrace, using the rhythm and looking at how the traditional moves fit the music with the objective being to increase the enjoyment on the social floor. All moves are taught with reference to the line of dance.
